Ms. Karny is a licensed speech-language pathologist. She received her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2015. She received a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University and a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The Pennsylvania State University.
She has experience working with a variety of pediatric populations in the public-school, outpatient clinic, and private practice settings. Ms. Karny has worked with children at the preschool, elementary, and middle school levels to provide individual and group therapy. She is has also provided classroom-based services, lead IEP meetings, and served as a member of the Local Screening Committee for determining special education eligibility in the public school system. She has experience in development and implementation with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and devices, including LAMP Words for Life, PRC Accent, and low-tech picture communication boards. Additionally, Ms. Karny is trained in the S.O.S Approach to Feeding.
